在三八“国际妇女节”和2023年世界知识产权日来临之际，为庆祝全球女性为建设更美好未来所做的开创性工作，鼓励更多女性利用知识产权加速创新创造，世界知识产权组织（产权组织）中国办事处于2月28日下午在京举办了知识产权赋能女性发展圆桌会议。来自政府、学界、协会、商界和媒体30多位代表应邀参会并发言。
On the occasion of International Women's Day and World Intellectual Property Day 2023, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Office in China (WOC) organized a Roundtable on the Empowerment of Women through IP in Beijing on the afternoon of February 28, to celebrate the ground-breaking work of women around the world to build a better future and encourage more women to accelerate innovation and creation via intellectual property (IP) . More than 30 representatives from government, academia, associations, business and media were invited to attend and speak at the event.

including China joining WIPO's two important treaties in 2022, two Chinese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) winning the first-ever WIPO Global Awards, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang sending a congratulatory letter to the 2022 Global Innovation Index (GII) Global Launch, WIPO Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service facilitating the business community in China with new route for resolving foreign-related IP disputes, and the enhancement of WIPO social media presences in China.

During the event, Director Liu also drew attention to the upcoming World IP Day 2023 and the WIPO Global Awards 2023. She highlighted that the theme of World IP Day 2023, "Women and IP: Accelerating Innovation and Creativity", renews the focus on women after 2018, emphasizing the importance that WIPO places on women as innovators and creators.

: The theme of the Video Competition is “When women enter the IP universe, we accelerate innovation and creativity and everyone's a winner”. Director Liu expressed her hope that more women entrepreneurs would participate in the Global Awards, showcasing the excellence of women as innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs. 表示，女性在创新中的作用不言而喻，但社会范围内相关意识不足，导致女性在创新创造中的作用被弱化和忽略。产权组织对女性充分关注、重视，不仅2018年和2023年世界知识产权日主题皆关注女性，而且在《全球创新指数报告》中也专门就女性发明人的指标进行了分析。

said that the role of women in innovation is self-evident, but the lack of awareness of this within society has led to a weakened and neglected role for women in innovation and creativity. WIPO pays full attention and importance to women, not only focusing on women in the themes of both World IP Day 2018 and 2023, but also in the GII, where indicators on female inventors are specifically analyzed.

王爱杰教授于2020年获得中国国家技术发明奖二等奖，并荣获何梁何利基金2022年度科学与技术创新奖。王教授的研究方向为水的再生和循环利用，其研究成果对于解决水资源匮乏的问题和实现社会高质量和可持续发展而言非常重要。王教授表示，许多像她一样的女科学家专注于科研并取得了杰出的成就，不仅为中国科研事业做出了重要贡献，同时还通过知识产权保护和商业化利用使其科研成果得以转化，实现经济价值, 推动相关产业发展。
Ms. Wang Aijie, won the second prize of the State Technological Innovation Award in 2020 and Science and Technology Innovation Award of Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation in 2022. Her research focuses on water reclamation and recycling, and her findings are important for solving the problem of water scarcity and achieving high quality and sustainable development for society. She said that many women scientists like her have not only made significant contributions to China's scientific research, but have also transformed their research results into economic value through IP protection and commercialisation, driving the development of related industries.
王梅云副院长因其杰出的医学贡献于2022年当选为美国医学与生物工程院院士。她在医学影像领域的研究和成果，为一线医生对各类疾病特别是新冠肺炎的诊断提供了重要支撑和帮助。她表示，知识产权保护和知识产权生态体系为众多女科学家在医学领域的创新创造提供了坚实的保障和便捷的服务，她希望产权组织不仅关注国际和国家层面的知识产权生态系统的建设，同时也能为省级层面的知识产权生态系统的建立和完善提供支持。
Ms. Wang Meiyun was elected as an academician of the American Academy of Medicine and Bioengineering for her outstanding medical contributions. Her research and achievements in the field of medical imaging have provided important support and assistance to doctors in the diagnosis of various diseases, especially covid-19 pneumonia. She said that IP protection and the IP ecosystem have provided solid protection and convenient services for the innovation and creativity of many women scientists in the medical field, and she hoped that WIPO would not only focus on building the IP ecosystem at the international and national levels, but also provide support for the establishment and improvement of the IP ecosystem at the provincial level.
